Laurene Powers, MAS

President/Owner

Laurene grew up in Manistee, Michigan, and studied business management at the local community college.  She was employed in the pleasure boat industry for nine years as an administrative assistant to the president and general manager. A move to Kalamazoo in 1984 brought her into the promotional products industry as joint owner of AbS Incentives / Award Source. She earned her MAS designation in 1996 and, although involved in sales over the years, her true love is the operations of the business, efficiency analysis, and financial controls. In 2002, she became sole owner of Award Source and merged her company with Promotion Concepts in 2003.
 
Laurene has two children, Troy and Ashlyn. In her spare time, she enjoys just about anything to do with the outdoors, reading, and taking the time to relax with family and friends. Her immediate personal goals are to become more involved in our community and actually take vacation time to travel.
